The Forge Humanist Bristol City Centre Wedding | When Jess Married Mark

I was super lucky to get to photograph both parts of Jess + Mark’s incredible Bristol wedding. They had their legal ceremony at Bristol Register Office on the Friday with just a handful of immediate family, and me! It was small, intimate, and really lovely. They had confetti on the steps afterwards and then we went for a little walk to get some quick photos before they went off for a family meal.

Then I got to spend all day Saturday with them for their gorgeous humanist celebration at The Forge, Bristol, an incredibly cool venue hidden down Colston Lane in the arts centre of Bristol, you can tell it’s run by a photographer!

We started day 2 at the couple’s house, where Jess was getting ready. Then it was on to The Forge for a truly emotional humanist ceremony, led by the Urban Celebrant Debbie and heavily featuring the couple’s super cute dog, Otto, their ring bearer.

After the ceremony, the guests all proceeded to the Christmas Steps for confetti and we stayed for the family (and dog!) group photographs. There were a few people milling around, but it wasn’t intrusive and everyone was very congratulatory! I got the impression people in Bristol are used to dodging photos!

We all then went back to The Forge for speeches and the most delicious wedding feast by Pasetti & Boote, followed by cocktail hour, pizza and dancing. I had the most incredible time with Jess + Mark, photographing their wedding days and getting to know the family. It was really quite sad to say goodbye!
